ABOUT

The purpose of gWave2L is to create a multi-track audio sequencer with accurate, easy-to-use, fully featured editing tools. This will be combined with three separate plug-in interfaces for easy upgrade and expansion of sequencer tools like: sound devices; audio effects; and sequencer objects like drum machines and sound file importing.

A new screenshot of gWave2L Audio Sequencer v0.3


September 28th 2003

The release of gWave2L Audio Sequencer v0.3 will see several changes and improvements:

  • Developed using the Mandrake distribution
  • Use of gnome2.4 and gtkmm2.0/gnomemm2.0
  • Multi-threading
  • Modularization, Handle-Body Idiom and reference counting techniques.
NOTE: These changes mean a complete re-structuring of the code and therefore the release date will be pushed back.

Release of gWave2L Audio Sequencer v0.2

This version has the following extra features:

  • undo & redo
  • recording (not full duplex)
  • cut, copy & paste
  • ability to move objects
  • display cache to speed up object display
  • ruler & markers
  • snap to markers & objects
NOTE: This version is unstable and is really a development step rather then a usable program.

First public release of gWave2L Audio Sequencer v0.1
Hosted on sourceforge.net

This version has the following features:

  • working open and save song dialogs
  • working track sorting dialog
  • real-time mixer (volume and panning only)
  • adjustable audio selection or range
  • track, range and sample zooming
  • plug-in object which inserts wave files
  • plug-in OSS sound (16 bit, 44100Hz, stereo playback only)
NOTE: Plugins may not be found on the first startup of the program. If this is the case, please exit and restart program.
